Fitness Classes

Pilates – Reformer, Mat, Ball
Pilates is a method of exercise designed and developed by physical therapist pioneer, Joseph H. Pilates. Utilizing specially designed equipment, his innovative method educates, re-patterns, realigns, and balances the body. Pilates offers a superior standard of kinetic movements that are physiologically sound. It develops the muscles of the body from the inside out, improves suppleness of the limbs, functioning of the vital organs, and endocrine glands, clarifies the mind and develops the will. Pilates also promotes mind/body connection, starting with core stability, tapping into the deeper abdominal muscles, as well as the spinal erectors. This leads to better posture, increased lung capacity (deep, healthy breathing is key) and joint articulation/mobility. Pilates also increases bone density by doing weight-bearing exercise without impact.

Multi-Level Reformer Pilates
In addition to the benefits described above, the specialized Pilates equipment gives clients a tactile sense of where their body is in space, using springs and straps to increase resistance and challenge. The machine also provides support when necessary to facilitate recovery from injury or surgery.

Private or group classes – all levels

Spin ClassSpectrum Spin
Spinning or Studio Cycling is an excellent exercise for cardiovascular strength and muscle toning. The instructor takes the class on a “ride” that includes sprints, hill climbs, and other fun exercises like intervals and circuits. Spinning bikes are equipped with a weighted flywheel in the front to quickly pick up speed when pedaling, as well as adjustable seats and handlebars, to give the feel of a road bike. Set to motivating music, classes last 60 minutes and scorch about 7.2 to 13.6 calories per minute – or about 500 calories per class.

H2O Fitness
H2O fitness is designed for individuals wishing to improve overall fitness and wellbeing.  These classes take place in our Hydrogen Peroxide therapeutic pools and allow participants to take control over the minor conditions that may disallow conventional exercise programs. H2O classes are also a great way to add variety to any fitness regimen. All levels; swimming skills are not necessary. Class limit of 15 and walk-ins are welcome.

Aqua Babies
Little ones can be successfully introduced to the water through this thoroughly enjoyable swimming experience. Our Hydrogen Peroxide pool is 94 degrees – so no blue lips or shivering babies. This is not a traditional swimming class, but an opportunity for incredible bonding and fun with babies, ages 6 months to 6 years.

Water Tai Chi
Water Tai Chi is water exercise and relaxation program created to help participants enjoy the water in a flowing, yet powerful, progression. Tai Chi increases oxygen and caloric consumption simply with correct form and positioning in the water. It is a perfect relaxation technique for highly stressed, over-challenged clients, and is ideal for creating improved range of motion and mobility. This class combines Tai Chi concepts with Shiatsu and Watsu techniques; it is performed standing in shoulder-deep water using a combination of deep breathing and slow, broad movements of the arms, legs and torso.

Muscles is a full-body workout for core strengthening (back and abdominals). Weight and calisthenics are used to create a dynamic workout for all fitness levels. The class is challenging, but tailored for those just beginning to work out with weights.

Strength & Tone
Strength & Tone is a ballet-inspired workout that is the perfect blend of deep muscle toning to build strength and stamina, lift your seat, burn fat, and transform your body through the use of a ballet bar. Classes last 60 minutes and burn about 250 to 500 calories.

Developed for Navy SEALs, TRX Suspension Training highlights bodyweight exercises and develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability. It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a highly portable training tool that uses gravity and the individual’s body weight to complete hundreds of exercises. This class is designed for all fitness levels and will enhance any activity goal.
